About Miss Kennie
Miss Kennie is a former Red Cross swimming instructor having taught for The City of Orlando Recreation Department for several years before having children.
When her boys were old enough, she enrolled them in infant swim lessons because they lived on a lake. She realized how important swim lessons were as a line of protection in drowning prevention. She was amazed at how well they learned at such a young age. She also realized that swimming is not only a great family activity but also great exercise for all ages.
In 1994 she became certified to teach infants and founded Miss Kennie’s Swim School.
She is a member of and certified by the United States Swim School Association (USSSA) to teach infants to swim. The American Heart Association currently certifies her in CPR and First Aid.
